Obituary for Jo Ann Rainey

Jo Ann Rainey, age 78, of Holiday Island, Arkansas left this world to join Jesus in heaven on May 9, 2020. She was born July 17, 1941 in Addison, Texas to Bryan and Johnnie (O’Neal) Pirtle.
Jo Ann and her husband, Thomas Allen Rainey, were united in marriage on August 6, 1960. They moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and built a home on Beaver Lake in 1995. In 2012 they sold their home and moved to Peachtree Village in Holiday Island, AR. She attended the Holiday Island Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter Christi Lynne Mangner and husband T.J. of Vancouver, Washington; son Christopher Scott Rainey and wife Christi of North Richland Hills, Texas; six grandchildren Thomas Ryan Adams, Kelsey Mangner, Maddie Mangner, Caitlin Rainey, Aleya Rainey and Judah Rainey; sister Ruby Staley and husband Don of Plantersville, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Allen Rainey; parents Bryan and Johnnie Maudine Pirtle.
Due to Covid-19 a memorial dinner will be held at a later date this summer at her church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holiday Island Baptist Church, PO Box 3129, Holiday Island, AR 72631 or the Good Shepherd Humane Society, 6486 Hwy 62 E, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.
