Frank Livingston Whiteside, Jr of Berryville, Arkansas passed away on October 20, 2019 at the age of 89. He was born on August 21, 1930 in Grapevine, Texas to Ethel Ann Whiteside and Frank Livingston Whiteside Sr. He was a loving, intelligent and funny family man who will be dearly missed by those he left behind. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Zachary (Jade), Hunter (Leilani), Evany, Dakota, Madison, Grant, Emelia, Louis and Aven in addition to his nine great-grandchildren and his brothers Richard and Jerome. His sister Patricia Ann Whiteside and his daughter Tammy Bonfiglio preceded him is death.
Frank lived a long and prolific life. He proudly served his country in both the Army Air Corps and the Marines. Frank was most proud of his time as a Marine during the Korean War. Those closest to him knew him to be a Marine to his core and this fighting spirit was evident all the way to his passing. Frank was a true salesman, and his quick wit and charismatic personality served him well in the car business. While he worked for numerous dealerships throughout his career, his own Whiteside Chevrolet in Lake Tahoe was his pride and joy. Frank later entered the real estate business in California, where he ran a successful business. He also served his community as a member of the Freemasons.
Frank lived a big life and loved a challenge. He loved the freedom of flying his various planes over the years. As an avid outdoorsman, Frank’s adventures took him around the globe. Whether he was on safari in Africa, fishing in Alaska, or hunting in South Dakota, Frank lived life to the fullest. Frank also enjoyed competition, which was evident on the golf course, fishing with friends, trialing his dogs or in shooting competitions at his gun club, where he was usually the one to beat. Frank’s love for life and all things outdoors carries on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Frank loved to cook and was an avid reader, finishing a book a week for most of his life. He loved to share his knowledge and his insightful observations will be missed.
